Gaining Recognition
Once a school has embedded three thinking tools across the curriculum and feels that the culture of the school has changed and the criteria met they can ask the CEC to assess them.
This involves a visit to the school by one of the CEC staff when he or she will spend a day talking to staff and students.
The school will have developed a portfolio of evidence during the time it is moving toward becoming a thinking school. This is not an onerous task as it can be collated throughout the process. Full details of what is required will be given to schools at the start of the process.
Staff support students very effectively to develop their thinking skills and independence.
