Practical strategies for incorporating thinking skills in to lessons throughout the curriculum.

This interactive day will focus on developing and understanding practical strategies and techniques for developing 'thinking' as identified the learner-centred, skills focussed 2008 Curriculum of the Welsh Assembly Government .

Outcomes:

Explore how teaching specific Thinking Skills can lead to improvements in the quality of learning and teaching: Habits of Mind, Thinking Hats
Discover Art Costa's 16 'Habits of Mnd' and how they can lead to improvements in pupils' attitudes to learning in the classroom.
Consider ways in which de Bono's 6 Thinking Hats and Art Costa's Habits of Mind can be successfully introduced and sustained in classroom practice
