Leading a Thinking School - a two day course for school co-ordinators

Dates: 25th & 26th March 2010, Castle View School, Canvey Island, Essex
27th & 28th May 2010, Binfield Primary School, Bracknell

This course is approved by the Centre for Cognitive Education at the University of Exeter.

This two day interactive workshop will equip the Thinking School Co-ordinator to introduce the concept of a Thinking School as a whole-school initiative, and lead development in a range of tools and strategies.

Outcomes:

Participants will:

Understand the why and how of teaching thinking
Know the dispositions, skills and understanding required to develop a Thinking School
Have been introduced to a range of cognitive tools, strategies and resources
Take away the knowledge, skills and understanding to create and implement a strategic plan for Thinking School recognition.
Be able to support their school on the Thinking School Journey

Who should attend?

Thinking School Co-ordinators in both Primary and Secondary phase.

Participants will receive a certificate recognising successful completion of the course.

Time: 9.00 a.m. - 4.00 p.m. (two days)
